Sites within the general project area are designated as fresh water wetlands.

Three BMP areas are included in the contract. The work includes a storm water pond with extended detention, outlet stilling basins and swales. Erosion and sediment control practices shall be utilized. Headwalls and retaining walls shall be constructed, and planting and landscaping shall also be performed. Work shall be performed in DEP blue belt areas.

Thesanitary sewer lines, when installed, will give the home owners in the project area the ability to disconnect their units from the septic tanks and reconnect their respective waste line to the new sewer line in the street.

Prior to the commencement of the installation of the sewerlines, the private homes were surveyed to determine the best locations to connect the individual home waste line to the new sewer line. During the installation of the sanitary sewer line, this survey will be used to place the lateral service of each home. The lateral will be installed from the sewer line to a point (3") inside the sidewalk area; the homeowner will be able to connect his house waste line to the provided lateral with minimum disruption to his unit, the street or the neighborhood.

The storm sewer, when installed, will provide the needed drainage within the block area of the contract. The lines will be able to remove storm water run off rapidly and prevent flooding that often resulted from rainfall in the past.
