ENGINEERING
HAKS provides engineering and design for public and private clients. These services include design studies, preliminary and final design, plans and specifications, cost estimates and scheduling. In accordance with project development requirements that the client sets, HAKS will incorporate a context sensitive approach in the design that emphasizes high performance, energy efficiency, and environmental friendliness. The objective of this approach is to conserve resources and energy during construction and in the long-term operation of the built facilities. We complement our design efforts with construction support services that will provide, at the request of the client, design modifications due to field conditions, analysis of value engineering proposals, shop drawing review, and more. The unique combination of experience and knowledge underlies our ability to quickly resolve client concerns and technical issues, and keep projects on schedule, within budget.
Our services encompass biennial bridge inspections. To date HAKS has inspected over 3,000 bridges. In addition, we have completed numerous condition inspections of buildings, building facades, overhead sign structures, retaining walls and other structures.
We have a dedicated team of schedulers and cost estimators that provide critical input to every design and construction project. To ensure accuracy, speed and efficiency, we use the latest computer software, including CostWorks, Primavera, MS Project Planner, Excel, Access, etc., to perform tasks such as developing activity networks, cost estimating, recording, tabulating, analyzing and forecasting.
